As a Creative Director, Clark’s services include new business pitches, concept design & development, treatments and presentations, sales, marketing and PR support, studio representation, creative leadership and supervision, client communications and quality control.
Clark has a flair for weaving fantasy, lighthearted humor and strong storytelling into his work. His imaginative and inspired creations have always set him apart. Some of Clark’s specialties include mixed-media live action and projects that feature character animation, critters, kids, and VFXs. With Clark’s eclectic background, he typically directs projects from concept through final delivery, overseeing all phases of production and media to result in one unified vision with efficient director-client communications.
After graduating from Colorado Institute of Art majoring in Graphic Design, he became interested in computer animation and developed a following as a broadcast designer, designing and animating graphics for CBS News, Children’s Television Workshop, Network ID packages and movie titles. His passion for design and animation led him to Robert Abel and Associates in Hollywood, a studio known for its groundbreaking imagery and the early pioneering of CG technology. While at Abel’s Clark added live action and VFX disciplines to his skill set and directed award-wining spots for AT&T, TRW, CBS Atari, Toyota and Canon to mention a few.
Following Abel’s, Clark spent a year at Coast Productions before signing as a staff Director / Creative Director at Rhythm & Hues Studios. With the exception of a 4-year departure to Klasky Csupo to direct and build their commercial division, “ka-chew,” Clark spent the next 25 years at Rhythm & Hues where he directed and oversaw hundreds of commercials, special venue projects and animation and VFX for clients worldwide. Clark earned an international reputation while directing jobs for such brands as Coca Cola, Budweiser, Conoco, Proctor and Gamble, Honda, Geico, Kraft, Keebler, Johnson & Johnson, Intel, Nabisco, Pfizer and 3M.
Currently Clark has his own company, C.A. Studios, where he continues to apply his unique combination of skills to design, develop, direct, art direct, creative direct, consult and supervise a wide variety of projects for commercials, feature films, themed entertainment, mixed media and graphic design projects. Clark is available as a freelancer for project-specific jobs or as a full-time staffer.
